European Rover Challenge
ERC Space and Robotics Event is the competition for a new generation of robots that perform several tasks analogous to those rovers execute on Mars. ERC field tasks are based on guidelines for NASA and ESA missions. They take place on Mars Yard – the world’s biggest artificial field designed specifically to resemble the surface of the Red Planet.
The formula enables young and ambitious engineers and innovators to test their skills and gain invaluable experience of working in an interdisciplinary environment. During the three day finale of the ERC competition, the jury, consisting of space sector professionals, evaluates the autonomous capabilities of the mobile robots as well as the advancement level of the projects, focusing on the use of 3D modeling and design, pioneering algorithms and innovative technical solutions.
Every year, ERC combines international mobile robot competition with the science and technological show zone open to the public. The eight edition of ERC will take place on September 6-8 in Poland, the Royal Capital City of Kraków.
